# Pagination

> How to go through a list page by page.

Each list returns one page at a time, from the newest item to the oldest.

## Parameters

| Parameter | What it does |
| - | - |
| `limit` | The number of items on the page, from 1 to 100. The default is 25. |
| `cursor` | The `next_cursor` value of the previous page. |

## Response

* `data` contains the items of the page.
* `has_more` tells if the list has more items after this page.
* `next_cursor` opens the next page. On the last page, the value is `null`.

## Go through the whole list

1. Call the list without `cursor`.
2. Read the items in `data`.
3. If `has_more` is `true`, call the list again with `cursor` equal to `next_cursor`. Repeat the same filters.
4. Stop when `has_more` is `false`.

## Cursor rules

* Treat the cursor as opaque text. Never build or change a cursor.
* A changed cursor gets `400` with the code `invalid_parameter`.
* A `limit` outside 1 to 100 gets `400` with the code `invalid_parameter`.
* A new item does not change the next pages. Your system receives each item only once, and the list skips no old item.
* The new item appears on the first page the next time your system goes through the list.
